“SINGAPORE — A day after his arrest, one of the four men found possessing airsoft guns was charged in court today (June 29). Yang Ziyi, 26, faces one charge under the Arms Offences Act. If found guilty, he faces a jail term of between five and 20 years and at least six strokes of the cane….”

Apparently "MILSIM" is a real thing, and Military representatives and business people from around the globe will be headed to Singapore to "discover MilSim." You know we're just having a little fun with the expo's title, but it would not surprise us if Airsoft-as-a-training tool will be absent from this event, as Singapore's authorities are notoriously tough against anything related to our 'game' there... Still, we do see Orange Tips on some of the event's publicity photos, so....Stay Tuned!

“…Police said officers ordered the teens to drop their weapons and two of them complied, but one did not. The teen fled and was later seen hiding in nearby brush with his weapon pointed at officers. “[The teen] bent his knees and then raised the weapon up,” Greco said. Just like all stories of this type…it comes down to LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. It might be the only lot in the ‘hood, but next to a day care center, in the open with ghillies..??? Still, fair response by LEO…although this is far from a cut-and-dried shoot-no shoot situation. More likely being used as a ‘cite and learn for the teens and for their community. “….Among the items recovered in a raid of an abandoned warehouse, around the middle of this month, were explosives such as triacetone triperoxide, syringes, masks, several airsoft rifles, paraphernalia from government opposition groups, and a lone desktop 3D printer. Authorities are now investigating whether or not the group had intended to modify the airsoft rifles, perhaps using components fabricated on the 3D printer, to make them lethal….”

If this story from 3D Print.com is extrapolating the data from the recent arrests in Hong Kong, there is a possibility that suspected/arrested “terrorists” were going high-tech in an effort to turn easily-available airsoft or pellet/metal bb guns into either real firearms or lethal powered “guns.” We were tracking on the arrests but did not pass on news, as the only apparent airsoft tie-in was some of the guns confiscated…and the fact that the scene of the alleged plot was also a A.O. for some HK airsoft events and film projects. Still….one wonders if this article and fallout from the “plot” might fall in a negative way on the Hong Kong airsoft in industry. This is coming in from various news outlets around Indianapolis, as 4 young men were arrested and one nearly shot by police Thursday night after they entered an old state hospital
site to play airsoft and get video for a YT channel….
