“…Adan wanted to talk about the topic of goggle safety and its importance it plays in the sport of Airsoft. Airsoft has had some bad news in the past about eye or face injuries due to unsafe eye and face protection. Lets keep Airsoft safe and fun for everyone with proper face and eye protection! This video was made to educate everyone about this topic and about different goggles we sell at Xtreme Airsoft. Find our selection on eye protection here:http://tinyurl.com/q9eln9b http://www.facebook.com/thextremeairsoft Youtube Link: http://youtu.be/1Sdtu73V9Uo…”

"...The AVS is an innovative system of vents and screens that allows the wearer to choose between sealed and open modes. From ESS: “As part of the goggle’s patented AVS, the Influx RotoClip silently pivots the position of the lens inside the goggle frame: choose either a dust-free, fully-sealed mode, or a fog-free, open-ventilation mode. With..."
Thumpy Covey's insight:
This might or might NOT have implications for players and field owners/event hosts to ponder. Is this a "Full Seal" goggle, or not? Does ESS suggest its use only for real-world troops...as they were the "innovators" of the "cortex-clip" nose/goggle junction cover to prevent BB's from getting inside the goggles...which these new frames do not have. We'll keep looking for the answers.... |

“Ammo Can of Wisdom – Episode 1
Thumpy Covey's insight:
These “Q & A” from the comments segments on YouTube are a great source of collective wisdom from players with different perspectives. You WILL pick up a lot more honest and objective info from listening in on these, especially if you don’t have a chance to get together with other ‘softers away from your weekly/monthly game. And, heck, we just like these DARK HORSE dudes! MOAR MOAR!

““These results demonstrate that air guns can cause severe, yet preventable, eye injury among the pediatric population,” explained Dr. Douglas Fredrick. “To reduce rates of pediatric eye injury, both practitioners and air gun companies should promote and lobby for eye safety mandates among all air gun users. Furthermore, changes in state policy to regulate possession and usage of air guns among minors may be warranted to reduce rates of accidental injury.””
Thumpy Covey's insight:
NOT GOOD NEWS! But it seems most of the reporting on this study from Stanford University puts the cause properly in the hands of PARENTS in supervision, use and eye-pro… Interesting to see former (??)-airsoft business guy John Steele quoted in the Time article, too… Links to the various parts of the story…most will cost you money, but welcome to today’s Journo-dilemma; TIME Magazine online LINK HERE Wall Street Journal ($$) LINK HERE Stanford Medicine SCOPE website online LINK HERE Science Direct.com’s link to the original Paper ($$) from Rachel Lee and Dr. Douglas Fredrick LINK HERE

Thumpy Covey's insight:
More than just a review, kinda a non-scientific destruction test of a new Eye-pro company's entry into the airsoft realm...and, man...these things DO take a pounding! Remember, any hits to your eyepro are reason to question its integrity and your eye safety...

E-HOUSE makes some seriously strong points in this op-flop over on the GUN GAMERS site...we didn't think mesh-as-eye-pro was still even 'a thing' but lets just keep the mesh for lower-face protection and get some real deal SAFETY back into your choices. PERSONALLY, I'd leave the field if I saw someone down-range from me wearing this! YOU. SHOULD. TOO!
