THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS for Cops and for Teen Airsofters!  Pay attention to this one!....  Crime Stoppers in Portland, Oregon wants to generate tips that lead to the arrest and conviction of felons  or TEENS UNDER 18 if someone "believes" they have a real firearm.  THUMPY's 3D believes this might lead to false tips that could result in a high-risk arrest situation involving teens with airsoft guns...akin to a "SWAT-ing" situation.   THINK ABOUT THIS...if a false tip about an airsoft gun results in police drawing weapons to search or "take down" an innocent kid, what will be the results? An officer-involved-shooting?  THIS IS BAD POLICY, and if you folks in the Oregon airsoft community...the guys and gals who just held the WINTER EXPO, for instance....are planning a response, please let THUMPY know so we can publicize what you are doing.

We DO stand behind LEO's and most Crime Stoppers programs...THUMPS has actually been involved in fundraising and organizational activities for many of the CS programs in eastern NC for more than 30 years....but this sounds like a well-meaning plan gone terribly astray in the name of "fighting gun violence."
