Cross-country skier and Olympic gold medallist Mika Myllylä testified in court about his use of EPO hormone between the years of 1993 and 1998. Via video link Myllyllä testified at Helsinki District Court Tuesday, in the continuation of the reopened, so-called "STT doping case."
The case dates back to the late 1990s when an STT (Finnish News Agency) and an STT reporter were taken to court and were found guilty of libel after she wrote a story using unnamed sources about doping within the Finnish Ski Association. The testimony that the Finnish Ski Association gave back then is again under heavy scrutiny because of Myllyllä's recent statements that he personally used EPO during that period...
