Facebook adds page features and promoted posts
Facebook has added a few features for marketers that were formerly offered only by third-party companies such as Vitrue and Buddy Media. Page-administrator permissions give marketers control over what members of the team -- from Manager to Insights Analyst -- may perform certain functions, and post scheduling allows control over when the Facebook news feed is fed. A new "promoted posts" feature, competing with Twitter's "promoted tweets," allows page owners to pay a premium to reach a higher percentage of fans within the news feed, rather than the ad space in the right column.
