The Benque Rotary are inviting everyone out on Saturday and Sunday, from 7am to 6pm, to help create the first Ecological Mural in Belize. It'll be made out of plastic caps.

'You are cordially Invited!  The Rotary Satellite Club of San Ignacio Benque Viejo invites you to participate in the first Ecological Art wall project with the use of plastic caps.  Creating awareness from the example and creativity of actions in favor of the planet is the movement.'

Ecology For Kids

Ecology For Kids | Cayo Scoop! The Ecology of Cayo Culture | Scoop.it

Another good Eco Kid essay entitled Ecology for Kids.  Heria Savery has the statistics for the protected areas in his essay.  Kids can still win a scholarship to attend Chaa Creek's Eco Kids Summer Camp.

Belize may be a small part of our planet, but we are very lucky that a lot of our land and sea areas is protected from development.  The forest reserves are areas managed specifically for the production of timber, so as to not over use.  National park and wildlife sanctuaries are protected by private individuals and non–governmental organizations.  Our drinking water is also protected in these areas which keep our water clean.  Our Protected areas are 31.93% which includes: Nature Reserves 1.76%, Private Reserves 5.40%, Archaeological Reserves 0.50%, Nature Monument 0.30% wildlife Sanctuaries 5.96%, National Parks 7.19% and Forest Reserves 10.82%."
