Best of luck to the Belize National Cycling Team as they head to Curacao to win the Caribbean Cycling Championships.  They race over the weekend.


"The National Team consists of male cyclists – Nissan Arana, Byron Pope, Joel Borland, David Henderson and Robert Liam Stewart; and female cyclists – Shalini Zabaneh and Kerah Eiley.  God Bless you all and may you all do great!!"

Belize Qualifies for 2014 Games

The Belize National Cycling Team did well at the Caribbean Cycling Championships in Curacao today.  Nissan Arana came in 9th place and Byron Pope came in 15th place.  In the road race, Byron Pope came in 10th.  Shalini Zabaneh came in 10th and Kerah Eiley came in 12th place in the women's division.  Belize qualified to participate at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Veracruz, Mexico in 2014.  Congratulations!

Capital City Cycling Race

The Belize Cycling Association had a race today.  Congratulations to all the winners!

 

"The Capital City Cycling Race held on Sunday June 2, 2013 featured 41 riders riding from Belmopan to La Democracia Village to Caves Branch Bridge on the Hummingbird Highway and back to Belmopan for a total of 60 miles. 

The race was won by Junior Rider Giovanni Lovell of the BTL Team who escaped from a breakaway group in the Hummingbird Hills.
2nd Jose Choto of Belikin, 
3rd Allen Castillo of Bennys Megabytes 
4th Angel Tzib of Bennys Megabytes
5th Erwin Middleton of Team C4

First Female was Shalini Zabaneh of Sagitun
2nd Junior was Zahir Figueroa of BECOL Uprising and
3rd Junior was Phillip Mencias of Capital Jewel Cycling Team

A big thank you to the sports supporters and sponsors which included Hon
John Saldivar, Grace Kennedy Ltd, A-Z Preschool, Mr. Miley Garcia, El Rancho and Capital Sales Bike Shop."
