The I Sing Barranco Book Launch is Thursday, July 30th, starting at 6:00pm, at the National Heritage Library. Dr. Harriet Arzu Scarborough, the author, will be there, and will read some of her peotry. "3 seasoned poets warm the stage for 1 featured poet who will tame the butterflies in the bellies of newer poets who will share their poetry in an open mic session. The featured poet for this event is Dr. Harriet Arzu Scarborough, she will also launch her book 'I Sing Barranco'"

The Belmopan branch of the Belize Cancer Society had their Cancer Walk, and they had a huge turnout. They got some great pictures from the event. More here. In related news, there will be a Cancer Forum at the National Heritage Library on May 22nd, starting at 6:00pm.

The National Heritage Library is having another Meet the Author day tomorrow, and this time they are bringing in Mr. Lawrence Vernon.
"The National Heritage Library on Mountain View Blvd. in Belmopan is having its sixth segment of Meet the Author to be held on Thursday, June 13th, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Mr. Lawrence G. Vernon is the featured author, editor, researcher and librarian for this event. He has contributed dozens of articles, book reviews and chapters to Belizean publications throughout the years. His research has yielded several books, including, Cultural Groups of Belize, From the Pages of our History and A History of Political Parties in Belize: 1950-1981."
