The Cayo Wellness Symposium had it all this time around. Honey, remedies, fruit, greens, soaps, cambucha, and even massages. A big thanks to Maya Mountain Lodge for hosting the event.

It's Father's Day this Sunday, and St. Martin's Credit Union is celebrating dads tomorrow morning. They'll have snacks and drinks, and some musical entertainment too. Many places around town are having dinner specials to honor dads, including the San Ignacio Resort Hotel and Maya Mountain Lodge. Tomorrow night, Tabu is having a Grads and Dads bash. Sunday, Pandy is having a Father's Day Bash at the Cayo Welcome Center at 7:00pm. Next week, the Belize Cancer Society is having a bash at the Bedran Hall for the occasion, and the Jade Band will be playing. Happy Father's Day weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving! Like always, there are quite a few Thanksgiving feasts around Cayo: The San Ignacio Resort Hotel, Aguada, Rolson's, Hode's, Guava LImb, and Maya Mountain Lodge are all having delicious meals to celebrate.

Maya Mountain Jungle Lodge has some beautiful grounds just outside of town, on the Cristo Rey road. Their 8 cabins are nicely done, and provide a natural and rustic feeling, and they have a dormatory for larger groups. They've recently been taken over by the same family that runs Cayo Adventure Tours, so you know the tours they offer will be guided well.

The Cayo BTIA is having their big Summer meeting at Maya Mountain Lodge tomorrow evening at 6:00pm. They'll be outlining their goals tomorrow. Everyone is encouraged to attend since Cayo is the ecotourism capital of Belize.

The Belize Wellness Institute is having another great Wellness Symposium this Saturday. It'll be at the Maya Mountain Lodge, and will start at noon. They'll have over 20 businesses showing off their wellness related products.

Cayo was well represented at BETEX 2014. Rumors Resort, Midas Resort, Ka'ana, CAT, Maya Mountain Lodge, Windy Hill, Cahal Pech Resort, and many other Cayo lodges and tour operators had displays set up to exchange information. Chaa Creek has a great article about BETEX. There are also pictures that show how much went into setting up the conference.

There was a Youth Empowerment Retreat at Maya Mountain Lodge. Great goals and great fun!
"High school youth from San Ignacio, Belmopan, and Belize City spent the holiday weekend together exploring, playing, serving, and learning. The focus was on the power of youth to shape the coming century and envision a more peaceful country and world. They studied the importance of looking within yourself and striving to be prejudice-free, honest, trustworthy, just, reliable, chaste, and a shining light no matter how dark things get around you. The event was part of the Jr Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program sponsored by the Baha'is of Belize. Maya Mountain Lodge generously offered their facilities for the event."
