Feelgood news of the day.  The Galen Eagles Band celebrated Children's Month by visiting St. Hilda's and St. Barnabas primary schools. They sang some songs and shared some stories with the students.  Looks like the students had a great time.  Thanks, Galen Eagles Band!

"The Galen Eagles Band delivered an early Easter treat to neighboring primary schools St. Hilda's Anglican Primary School in Georgeville village and St. Barnabas' Primary School in Central Farm village.  The band members engaged in a day of sharing words of wisdom with the children accompanied by a session of live music and dancing. Gooooooooooo Eagles!"

Carifesta has finished, and the Galen Eagles Band had a great time playing there.  Check out some of their pictures from the week long fiesta.  Have a safe trip back.

Belize is represented well in Suriname at Carifesta XI.  The Institute of Creative Arts has some good pictures up, and the Belize National Dance Company has some great videos up too.  Have fun, everyone!

The Galen Eagles Band, along with the Belize National Dance Company, and Joris Hendrik, have arrived in Suriname to represent Belize at Carifesta IX.

In related news, the Galen Eagles Band has submitted a video to the Belize Celebrations video competition on fb, entitled Proud of My Belize, which was written by Shannelly Sutherland, and it will be performed at Carifesta.

The Galen Eagles Band will be performing at the Cayo Welcome Center tomorrow night at 7:00pm.  They'll be heading over to Suriname soon to represent Belize in the Caribbean Festival of Arts.  Go show your support, and hear some great music at the same time.

The La Ruta Maya Cultural Night is tomorrow night at the Cayo Welcome Center.  There will be live music from the Galen Eagles Band, a Mayan Rain Dance by Orquidea Negra, and Dr. Jaime Awe will present 'The Old Belize River,' which is all about the fascinating history of the Maya and their use of the rivers of Belize.

The SISE House of Culture is having their annual LRM Cultural Night this Thursday at the Cayo Welcome Center.  They'll have a special cultural presentation for the event.  The Galen Eagles Band will be performing, as will the Bullet Tree Cultural Dance Group.  It all starts at 7:00pm.

Galen had their GIVE fundraiser, which will allow them to award a high school  scholarship to a lucky student.  The Galen Eagles Band was there providing great entertainment.  Thanks, Galen!

"On Saturday, October 12 2013, the Fall 2012 MBA cohort hosted it's GIVE (Galen Initiative for a Valued Education) fundraising initiative at the ITVET, in Belize City.  The gala was executed as the capstone project in partial fulfillment of the Master in Business Administration degree, with greater efforts in fundraising for a 4 year high school scholarship that will be given to one deserving Belizean student.  The dinner/dance gala was well organized, and great support was received from guests in attendance.  Filled with enthusiasm, all were happy to be a part of such a momentous occasion! Job well done Galen Eagles!!"

The Belize National Dance Company was invited to perform for the closing ceremonies of Carifesta.  Not surprising, since they've wowed audiences while there, along with music supplied by the Galen Eagles Band.  Have a great time!

The Galen Eagles Band played at the Thalia theatre during Carifesta XI in Suriname.  Joris Hendrik was there to get the video of some of their great performance.  In related news, Joris Hendrik got to show off his designs last night.

The Galen Eagles Band played a free concert at the Cayo Welcome Center last night.  They did a fantastic set of Garifuna and Creole music.  Wish them the best as they head to Suriname.

Feelgood news of the day.  The Galen Eagles Band went to Santa Elena Primary School to do some playing for the kids and their families for an early Mother's Day.  Thanks, Eagles, for making them smile!
